Here we go again! Another year has started. It is so hard to believe how things have changed in just one year, but our God has been faithful and gracious. Life is good and I am looking forward to the coming year knowing that whatever comes, He remains sovereign and faithful.
"In the beginning God created..."
Seldom have I ever started a project without an end result in mind (or at least a clue of what I am wanting to accomplish!). The truth be told, we only consider beginning a project when there is some goal that has spurred us on... that's why we start it in the first place.
The same is true in God's economy. From before the foundations of the world God had a plan, had a purpose, had a divine directive that He wished to accomplish, and to realize His purposes He created.
Often overlooked, these very first words of Scripture provide us with great security and confidence. We have a purposeful God who is working all things towards the end results of His plan. And unlike me, what He envisions for His end is exactly what He'll create! That gives me great peace, knowing that my sovereign Creator is leading my life with reason.
Being created in His image, He has also given us that same motivation in our hearts. A new year has begun. What plans have been laid on your heart for this coming year. Proverbs 29:18 reminds us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish."
If we hope to grow financially, we must takes steps to see those things happen. Investments, savings, etc. If we want to move ahead in our education, different steps must be laid out other than the status quo. The same is true spiritually. If we want to develop our walk with our sovereign Lord, we should also put in place measures to realize these aspirations.
Happy new year! It is for all of us potentially another year of life for us to plan, create, and thrive. But we must plan accordingly. We are stewards of a great gift, time. How will you spend yours this year?
